Stuff the Bag 2012

We have set the dates for our Stuff the Bag events for 2012.  For those of you unfamiliar with this event, you get 25% off whatever notions, fabric, patterns and books you can fit into a medium bag.  The first one will be March 31, 2012, so start saving your pennies!  The other dates are June 30, September 29 and December 22.  This is a good time to start filling things out on your new calendar, so why not add these events.

Ladies at the Lake Quilt Retreat

Have you ever thought of just getting away from it all and spending a weekend relaxing and quilting?  We have just the answer!  Ladies at the Lake Quilt Retreats are the perfect combination of the two.  Join Deb and other quilters at Brentwood on the Beach. Quilt on your own projects or make one of the several offered. Meet new friends, relax in the hot tub, enjoy a swim in the salt water indoor pool or sweat it out in the Swedish sauna. These weekends are all about you so join in the fun.  The Spring dates have been set.  Plan some time for yourself on one of the following weekends:  March 8-11, April 13-15 and April 27-29.   Contact Deb by phone or email.

A great time is always had by the Shop Hoppers. If you have never been, you can pick up a passport from any of the stores taking part and start collecting the puzzle parts for the finished project. How does it work? There are 5 stores to visit, The Quilt Place, Creative Sewing, Ye Olde Fabric Shoppe, Creative Sisters and Reichards. At each store have your passport stamped and pick up part of the puzzle. At the last store you get the final clue to make the project. All stores will have Shop Hop Specials and will be collecting for the food bank.

This 12 month program is going to be a winner!  It features 12 Tonga Batiks from Timeless Treasures and finishes at a Queen size, however instructions are included to make a King size.  If you would like to join this program please email or phone the store to be put on the list.  We will start cutting kits in April so it would be great if we could have an idea of how many kits to prepare.

Description: What do you think of when you think of Canada? Is there something about the country or its people that makes you proud to be Canadian?
We would like you to sew a quilt block using the challenge fabric (available in store) to show what it is you love about Canada.
Blocks must be returned by  Monday May 10th and will be displayed in store during Quilt Festival. Visitors to the store will be asked to vote on their favourite block and the top three will win a prize. All blocks become the property of Reichards and will be made into a quilt to be given to Quilts Of Valor.
